According to the ΛCDM model, the Universe consists of 73% dark energy, 23% dark matter, and 4% baryonic matter. However, we still know very little about the underlying physics of dark energy and dark matter. In this presentation, astronomer Aycin Aykutalp will review dark matter theory, the missing mass problem, and talk about alternative theories that can shed light on the mystery of dark matter.
