Join author Eileen Garvin at PEEC on Monday May 20th, 6pm for a discussion of her latest novel Crow Talk, a moving story of hope, healing, and unexpected friendship that channels the same heart and gorgeous nature writing that readers loved in Garvin’s national bestselling debut The Music of Bees.

Deeply rooted in Garvin’s personal history, Crow Talk centers on two women and a lonely little boy who have all retreated to a remote alpine lake in the woods of Washington State, seeking solace. A chance encounter with an injured baby crow spurs an unlikely friendship, allowing all three to forge a path towards healing, rediscovery, and joy.

PEEC director Jillian Rubio will lead a discussion with Garvin about the breathtaking natural beauty that our very real world can offer if we slow down enough to take it all in, as well as fascinating facts about crows, including how they can recognize human faces, how they care for each other, and how they pass knowledge down through generations.

Crow Talk will be available for purchase at Samizdat Bookstore after April 30th, as well as at the event.
