Discover the beauty of wildflowers during this hands-on watercolor workshop using the gardens at the Los Alamos Nature Center. We will start with a garden tour to learn about penstemons and other native flowers in the gardens. Then, let your creativity flow as you paint with watercolors and pencils, capturing the blooms. Gain insight into flower anatomy while enjoying the outdoors. Materials provided. For beginners and beyond. 

 

About the Presenter

Ken Nebel is a working artist and art material expert who owns a small frame shop and art supply store in the high desert of New Mexico, a region renowned for inspiring generations of artists. Ken is constantly inspired by the characters and animals in his life, and shares that inspiration through running the Los Alamos Life Drawing Group. Ken holds a BFA with an emphasis in Illustration and Art History.  Ken has taught classes in the arts, directed a regional arts organization, and has curated over 70 juried group and solo exhibitions in the last 12 years.
