Join local birder, Bob Walker, for a birding walk at Los Luceros Historic Site. This is a unique opportunity for both novice and experienced birders to bird in an area that offers access to massive old-growth cottonwoods and fantastic Rio Grande habitat. Get to know the local birds and discover new species.

Los Luceros is a nearby local gem of the New Mexico Historic Sites. More than 150 species have been seen at this property and it was once nominated as an Audubon Important Bird Area (IBA). The cultural site is surely one of New Mexico’s most scenic and historically significant properties.

Bring binoculars, a camera (optional), snacks, and water. Be prepared for the weather by wearing warm clothing layers, a hat, and gloves.

This birding trip is limited to 10 participants, so register soon!

Participants should plan on meeting at Los Luceros at  7:00 AM.

If you can't make it to this event, be sure to stop by on other Wednesdays from 10 AM – 12 PM for Bob's regular weekly birding hours.

Admission: Free.
