Bee City Los Alamos is excited to announce we have a new Coordinator! Britton Donharl comes to us with a wealth of education experience and excitement about pollinators. Even though she started back in January, she feels it is finally time to introduce herself.

Britton recently discovered that she wears sunglasses and a hat a lot in photos, mostly because she’s often outside | Photos by Britton Donharl
Britton was born and raised in the Colorado mountains where she hiked, backpacked, skied at resorts and in the backcountry, climbed ice and rocks, mountain biked, stargazed, and did other things like get a BA in Studio Art and an MEd in Elementary Education. She moved to New Mexico with her husband nearly 25 years ago, had a couple of kids and started learning about high-plateau gardening in White Rock. Britton is still learning about mountain gardening now that she lives in Los Alamos, and struggles to both honor wildlife and curse them for destroying her hard work in the yard. Her love of learning is what drew her to education, and in this new position, she hopes to inspire others to respect, enjoy, and honestly, to be awe-struck by Nature and all it has to offer. Convincing others to grow and support flowering plants and their pollinators has become an important passion, and she can’t wait to encourage you to do the same!
