About the Festival
On Thursday, January 22, 2026, the SALA Los Alamos Event Center will host the only Backcountry Film Festival screening in New Mexico. From 7 to 10 PM MT (doors open at 6 PM), audiences will be treated to a lineup of films celebrating the human-powered experience. Expect stories of adventure, climate and environment, youth in the outdoors, and ski culture—all brought together in one inspiring evening.
Produced by Winter Wildlands Alliance, the Backcountry Film Festival is more than a movie night. It’s a celebration for the backcountry snowsports community. Funds raised stay local, supporting environmental education here in north, central New Mexico.
