In August, Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation Board of Directors awarded us a Small Educational Outreach grant in the amount of $1500. The funding allows Los Alamos fifth grade students to attend bird banding field trips, where they become more familiar with birds in the area as well as the field science process. These field trips give students the opportunity to see wild birds up close, learn about how scientists study bird populations, and analyze the data they helped collect.
